Lisa Reiser - UCI MC
Lisa Reiser, RN, MN

Chief Nursing Officer/Chief Patient Care Services Officer

UCI Healthcare

Lisa has been at UCI Medical Center since 1984 and has a clinical background in trauma/critical care nursing. She has been in her current position as CNO/Chief Patient Care Services Officer since 1996. Lisa received her BSN from Humboldt State University and her master's degree in Nursing Administration from UCLA. In 1999, she was awarded a Johnson & Johnson Wharton Fellowship. Additionally, Lisa is a member of several professional organizations including the American Organization of Nurse Executives, Association of California Nurse Leaders and the Orange County Nurse Executive Council. She is currently in the process of completing her fellowship as a Magnet Appraiser and has recently spoken internationally on magnet recognition and current trends in nursing in the U.S. She is a guest lecturer for the Nursing Administration program at the UCLA School of Nursing.

In 1997, she survived a near-fatal case of vericella pneumonia, a feat she credits to the care she received from her staff. Lisa remains well grounded by the responsibility she has to the nurses at UCI. She sees the nursing staff at the medical center as the cornerstone to quality patient care and works to assure that their contributions are recognized and valued. Her vision of that recognition was realized in 2003 when UCI became the first university-based hospital in Southern California to earn magnet recognition. She appreciates the accomplishments and performance of her staff and will readily admit she is the luckiest CNO around.
